West Lafayette, Detroit. Thursday, 20th May 2010

The sinkhole was more than 20 feet wide and about ten feet deep. It sat right in front of the old Lafayette Building where crews with Adamo Demolition have been working to tear it down. We are told the retaining wall collapsed, which led to the water line breaking. It is uncertain if the aging infrastructure is to blame or the demolition crew.
